On Foundation Day in April 1968, the School’s teaching staff assembled for this staff photograph. It was to be the last year of Principal Rogers before he handed over the reins of the School to Mr. Samuel Sawyerr. The teachers were asked to attend the photocall decked out in their respective academic regalia.

As we write this narrative in January 2022, Mrs Ethel Thorpe in the front row is still living and the Foundation has also spoken to her to get her thoughts on this era. POWSAF wishes to thank and pay respect to all teaching staff such as Mrs Thorpe for helping to create the Alumni both in Sierra Leone and in the diaspora. May their memories be with us always and may their souls Rest In Perfect Peace.
