Tribute to Archimedes Faulkner, Founding Trustee of POWSAF
It is with very profound shock and sadness that we received the news of the passing of our colleague and passionate Princewalean Arnold Blanshard after such a short illness. Arnold was a Founding Trustees of the Prince of Wales School Alumni Foundation (POWSAF). On behalf of all the Trustees of POWSAF, we would like to extend our sincere sympathies to his wife, Jarata, children, Jada and Janold and to the rest of the Blanshard family. We hope that the support of family and friends will offer succor and hope for the future at this very difficult time.
I originally met Arnold in the mid-2000’s when I attended a Prince of Wales Global Leadership conference in California hosted by the Prince of Wales Alumni Association in California. I could tell he was very proud and passionate about his alma mater. He of course went on to not just be an integral member of the Association but became President of the chapter. Once he found out about the plans for setting up a Foundation to help support the school, he came on board and was active in the development and creation of it. Due to his financial background, he soon became our financial and accounting “go to” person as the modalities of the Foundation were developed. It was therefore inevitable that upon launching the Foundation, he was unanimously voted to be our Chief Financial Officer, a position he held until his unfortunate demise.
As we have continued to grow the Foundation, Arnold’s efforts in keeping track of all our expenditures and income has kept us on the straight and narrow as well as ensuring that we were diligent about the mission of the Foundation.
We, the Trustees mourn with his family and with all those who knew him, and as a Founding Trustee, we will ensure that his contribution to POWSAF is never forgotten.
Farewell thee well Arnold. Forward Ever, Backward Never – May your gentle soul now rest in perfect peace.
Melbourne Garber, POWSAF CEO
